Founded in 1965, Austin Area Obstetrics, Gynecology Fertility, P.A. has become the premier Obstetrical and Gynecological practice in the greater Austin area. The Group will have grown from an initial group of two physicians to a professional staff of eight board certified physicians and a staff of seven certified nurse practitioners. This translates into offering a significant level of coverage and patient access within our Community. Currently, services are provided at our offices Seton Medical Park Tower located next to Seton Medical Center near 38th Street and Lamar Avenue. In the Spring of 2009, our practice will move into the new St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas located on the campus of North Austin Medical Center at 12221 MoPac Expressway North. Our physicians are experienced and competent to manage most normal and high-risk pregnancies without outside referrals. Our laboratory services are unequalled by any other OB/GYN group in Austin. We perform hundreds of lab tests every day in our Highly Complex, COLA inspected and CLIA certified laboratory and at our last inspection, received The Laboratory Excellence Award for achieving a perfect score. Almost all laboratory tests needed by our patients are collected within our office, providing significant convenience for our patients and a high satisfaction level. Our radiology department includes sonography, mammography and bone density testing. The sonographic center is accredited by the American College of Radiology and employs three certified ultrasound technicians, two certified mammography technicians and one certified bone density technician. We have advanced, state of the art equipment, including 14 ultrasound machines that allow possible sonographic studies on the initial patient visit. Our screening mammography is performed by the two most caring and best-liked mammography technologists in the Greater Austin area, as our patients who have had experiences elsewhere would attest. Our high quality equipment that is annually FDA certified will soon be converted from analog technology to the current state-of-the-art digital technology. Bone density testing is performed for appropriate patients with our new, state of the art Hologic DEXA scanner. Aggressive compliance and follow-up with National Osteoporosis Foundation, WHO and other standard parameters of bone loss are being followed in our office. We believe the key to managing osteoporosis is prevention that is regularly assessed in our at-risk patients utilizing patent education through our very skilled nurse practitioners. Most of our patients schedule both their mammogram and if warranted, bone density testing for osteoporosis on the same day as their annual examination. Infertility services at our office range from the basic evaluation of the couple all the way to in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer. Unlike many OB/GYN’s who “dabble” in infertility with incomplete evaluations and prolonged ineffective treatments, our approach to infertility treatment is goal and expense oriented.
